Base Camp Counseling

    Welcome to Base Camp Counseling, a safe warm place to begin your therapy journey. Here at Base Camp the goal is to provide you the tools you need to create the meaningful change and growth that you desire for your life. I'm here as a guide, but you're the expert on your life and your goals. 

    My therapeutic style is authentic, warm, and solution-focused with hopes of providing my clients with a safe place where they feel secure and open to address their challenges. I will show up as a human which will be raw, genuine, honest and maybe some swear words and sarcasm sprinkled in. I use empathy and humor to create a comfortable environment for individuals to share their struggles, process difficult emotions, gain deeper personal understanding, and take risks toward meaningful life change. My technique is to help you to arrive at insight and understanding while also providing tangible tools and strategies to manage those challenges. My goal is to help you navigate your personal obstacles with confidence and ease finding coping mechanisms, and solutions that are specific and work for you. I believe a strong authentic therapeutic relationship, in combination with the work to identify and understand negative patterns of behavior can lead to desired outcomes and noticeable change.  I take a side by side approach to help identify issues you want to address, discover how you got here, and develop a more sustainable way to manage your world from where you're at now.

    Therapy is hard and I will challenge you to dig deeper and work for the change you want in your life. I will be there to guide you, encourage, you, and gently (and sometimes not so gently) challenge you. I will ask you to verbalize your feelings and explore motivations behind your behavior. I will pull on threads of your ideas so that you can see where they come from and where they lead. I will show up authentically and ask that you bring your honest authentic self into the therapy space.
